In the Name of the Most High Deity Emperor Haile Selassie I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Light and Saviour of the World.

For a long time now, I have desired to see the Rastafarian community of Great Zimbabwe (Ophir) manifest its presence on the World Wide Web. It would appear that Igziabeher-Ab Rastafari has chosen me to initiate this. I hope that others will be inspired to then post their material- until we have a large volume of writings, images etc that others may access.

At this point in time, the creation of a repository of our knowledge, our opinions, our beliefs, our doctrine, our culture, is crucial. The problems that Zimbabwe faces today have had a terrible impact on the Rastafarian people, adding to those that we already had. I can list them, but we all know what they are. We all know how terrible our circumstances are, threatening to overwhelm us and drive us in to extinction.

Yet, we are still here! So, we must still strive to overcome these problems. The Most High, having allowed us to continue to exist, will surely guide us towards the attainment of our goals?

Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with IGZIABEHER, and my work with my God.
And now, saith IGZIABEHER that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the IGZIABEHER, and my God shall be my strength.
And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
Thus saith IGZIABEHER, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of IGZIABEHER that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
Thus saith IGZIABEHER, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

I am going to share as much knowledge as I can on these pages, in the sincere hope that it will be useful to my brothers and sisters out there. But I have to confess at this point in time that I really feel alone, like I have been weeping in the dark and no one to hear me and at least cry with me. However, as I have stated, defeat is not an option I am ready to contemplate just yet.

Pray for the people, pray for the Sanctuary, pray for the Ark therein. Amen.

Brilliant initiative. I'm not a Rastafarian yet but I've come to recognise Rastafarianism as the only global Afro-centric religion with a purely African origin. This is important to me and everyone who is African. There is a lot of work to do. Most importantly, people are ignorant of what Rastafarianism is really about. This problem can be solved by widespread literature dissemination. Christianity is popular because the Bible and its accessories are widely available even in the most technological advanced regions of the world. This is an important project if Rastafarianism is to survive. Could you give us a literature guide for the inquiring mind?

ERRATA: Actually, I meant "... the Bible and its ... are widely available ... most technological disadvantaged regions.".
