A Response to Pastor Paul Kaseke

update, 1 Tahsas 2006 (11 December 2013)

On this page was a very strong response to an article on sermoncentral which was one of the most disgusting pieces of anti-Rastafarian slander I have ever had the misfortune of coming across.

Pastor Paul Kaseke got in touch with me on facebook (he blocked me soon after my response and appears to have unblocked me) and expressed his regret at the article. He also distanced himself from it, apparently he is not the only one who posts stuff in his name on sermoncentral. The offending piece has also been removed.

As far as I am concerned, the matter is ended. Pastor Kaseke is entitled to his opinion about Rastafarians or any group of Rastafarians, but he is not entitled to his own facts. If he has withdrawn or caused to be withdrawn an article that was full of lies about Rastafarians and the Rastafari Faith, then the response is no longer necessary. I commend the Pastor for making the gesture towards reconciliation. In apologising, he acknowledged that the harm that such utterances from members of the dominant Christian community do minorities such as Rastafarians. I am genuinely moved by this gesture. Thank you, Pastor Kaseke.

Accordingly, my ranting response is withdrawn from the public sphere.

Excellent article, well written. However, it is a waste of effort to reply to people who are given the job to sow distrust, disbelief and discord among the growing numbers of people who are seeing the Light of Rastafari. It is as inevitable as the rising of the sun and the going down of the same, but it will NEVER stop I&I from believing what we believe. It only gives the curious topics to speak with us about, and this is how we gain more believers. i THANK JAH FOR SHOWING ME THE BLESSED WAY OF CHRIST THROUGH THE LIFE AND EXAMPLE OF .H.I.M. ONE LOVE.

Fraternal Greetings in the Name of the Most High, H.I.M. Emperor Haile Selassie I

I often ignore them, but I had a lot of time on my hands on a Saturday night, and I thought, why not? Someone somewhere will come across it and ask the pastor to respond, which he can't. And who needs a pastor who doesn't have any answers? That is how his little empire falls apart. The Father gave me the hammer to do that.
